We’re always looking for speakers, and we’d love to hear from you — no experience necessary. Whether it’s your first time on stage or your hundredth, our meetups are a warm, supportive place to share what you know.

Who Should Speak

Everyone has something worth sharing. You should consider speaking if you:

Have learned something with Python (or an adjacent tool) and can walk others through it
Built a project, solved a tricky problem, or discovered something you found useful
Want practice presenting in a friendly, low-pressure setting
Have never spoken before — we especially encourage first-time speakers

You do not need to be an expert, have a novel topic, or hold a particular job title. If you’re unsure whether your idea is a fit, ask us — the answer is almost always yes.

Host a venue

Venue hosts make our meetups possible. Hosting means providing a space for an evening; the PyLadies organizing team handles all the coordination, promotion, and running of the event.

What We Need

The bare minimum to host is:

A space that comfortably fits our group (typically 20–30 people)
A projector or screen and basic A/V for the talks

That’s it. A spot that’s accessible by public transit is a big plus.

Help organize

Organizing our events is a team effort, and there’s room for lots of hands. Most of these don’t need any special access or accounts — especially blog write-ups and design work.

Ways to Pitch In

Coordinate with our venue host — handle logistics with the space and confirm details
Coordinate with sponsors — line up food or other event sponsorship
Speaker support — help speakers prepare and feel welcome before and during the event
Be the MC of the day — host the event, introduce speakers, and keep the program on time
Write blog recaps — turn an event into a write-up for the site
Design assets — posters, social graphics, and event banners
