Get involved
Our community runs on people who step up: to speak, to host, to sponsor, and simply to show up. Here's how you can help, whatever your experience level.
Speak
We’re always looking for speakers at our meetup! No experience necessary. Whether you’re speaking for the first time, or a seasoned presenter, we welcome you in our community.
See the Speak at our meetup guide for talk formats, how to prepare, and what to expect.
Submit your talk ideaHost
If you have an event space in Vancouver, and can host our next meetup, we’d love to hear from you! A space for 20-30 people with a projector would be great. We’re also looking for a space that is accessible by public transit.
See Host a venue for what hosting involves.
Offer a spaceDonate & sponsor
PyLadies Vancouver is run entirely by volunteers, and donations help us keep our meetups free and welcoming. You can also sponsor a specific event, most commonly by covering food (like pizza) for an evening. See Donate and sponsor for the details.
Donate to PyLadies VancouverHelp organize
Organizing our events is a team effort, and there’s room for lots of hands: coordinating with venues and sponsors, supporting speakers, MCing, writing blog recaps, or designing posters. Most of these don’t need any special access or accounts. See Help organize for the full list.
Just tell us in the #city-vancouver channel on the PyLadies Slack what you’d like to help with, and we’ll get you started. No experience required.
