PyLadies Vancouver and R-Ladies Vancouver are teaming up for a night of lightning talks on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at VISST, and we’re looking for speakers. This is an open invitation. If you have never spoken before, it is especially for you. We would love to help you give your first talk.

Who should give a talk

If you are reading this, you can give a talk. We are an inclusive community, and we welcome speakers of every background and experience level: first-timers and seasoned presenters, students and career-changers, and everyone in between. You do not need to be an expert or hold a particular job title. If you have learned something and can walk others through it, we want to hear from you.

Our first meetup of the year is in the books, and what a way to start. We had a full house: RSVPs filled up, a waitlist formed, and 23 of you checked in on the night. Thank you, Vancouver. The room was warm, the questions were great, and the pizza disappeared at a very respectable pace.

Better late than never! This recap of our June 2025 workshop took a little longer to publish than we’d hoped, but the event was too good not to share.

For our June 2025 meetup, PyLadies Vancouver hosted From Curiosity to Cloud, a hands-on workshop led by Linda Lee. Attendees brought their laptops and worked through deploying a Python application, complete with LLM integration, to the cloud using Defang.

Our first meetup of 2025 was a success!

We had a great turnout at our first meetup of 2025, celebrating International Women’s Day.

This was the first in-person meetup we’ve had in a long time. We’re really excited to kick-start our meetups again and to rebuild the Vancouver PyLadies community.
